The Mifafí –Torondoy trip is one of the most spectacular and challenging bicycle routes that you can do in Venezuela. Starting in the “alto de Mifafí”, above 4.200 m., this route travels throughout some of the most beautiful and solitary “páramos” and high mountain valleys of the National Park Sierra la Culata in the Venezuelan Andes. Its trace and great altitude on the first part of the route is a great technical as well as physical challenge for mountain bikers. This effort is compensated by the beauty of the landscape and the fast descents that characterize this demanding journey. This route overcomes the 4,300 m. in the “alto del Buitre” and then you will find bushy clouded forests when you begin your descent to lower height mountains.
Day 1: We meet in Mérida city. Transportation to a comfortable inn “posada” in the Andean páramo. Dinner and lodging at the posada.

Day 2: Breakfast and early departure to the “Alto de Mifafí”. This voyage alternates high mountain valleys with some demanding uphill. We will reach the highest mountain top and then initiate a vertiginous descent through the “Páramo de Piedras Blancas”. We will cross the clouded forests up to an authentic peasant’s house where we will have the opportunity to experience the life of the simple and warming habitants of the mountains. Dinner and lodging in the “Mucuposada”.
Estimated riding time: 6 hours

Day 3: After breakfast we will continue the trip until reaching the town of Torondoy, where you will board a vehicle that will take you back to Mérida.
Estimated riding time: 3 hours
